About PK Christian Music
I retired from the school board in Louisville, Kentucky, sold my properties, and moved to Rough River in Leitchfield, Kentucky. I had a place on the lake and planned to build an old western-style saloon to show off my 200+ bottles of bourbon. At that point in my life, I never imagined going back to church.
My wife started attending a small church we had passed hundreds of times. She loved it and kept asking me to go. I told her, “Thanks, but no thanks.” Eventually, I finally went just to get her off my back. I figured one visit was enough, but something kept drawing me back.
Before long, I was attending every service, including prayer nights. I sold all my bourbon and forgot about building the saloon completely. Four years earlier, I would have never believed this would become my life.
During a trip to Ranger, Georgia, with my pastor, I attended a revival service where I gave my life fully to Jesus. The following night, I was baptized. After returning home, I felt called to write a Christian song, but for nearly a year, nothing came together.
Then one Sunday night after a powerful sermon on trials and tribulations, I went forward to pray. As I finished praying, the words “Thank you for you” came into my heart. Suddenly, it felt like warm water had been poured over me. I even opened my eyes to see if someone had touched me.
I couldn’t stop hearing those words. That night, after returning home, I went upstairs and wrote my very first Christian song in about 30 minutes. That was May of 2024.
Since then, I’ve written more than 160 songs. I entered several songs into the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, an international competition with over 60,000 entries. That very first song won Gospel Song of the Year for 2024, and another song became a top finalist.
I often say “I wrote these songs,” but the truth is God gave them to me. I simply hold the pen and paper. Some nights He wakes me at 3, 4, or 5 in the morning, and before the sun comes up, another song is finished.
I don’t play instruments, and after two surgeries on my esophagus, I can no longer sing the way I once could. To bring these songs to life, I use AI-generated melodies and vocals — but never for the lyrics. Every lyric comes directly from the heart and from the inspiration God gives me.
These songs are meant to plant seeds. They are not just for people sitting in church pews, but for people in the world who may not yet understand what our Lord and Savior can do.
If He can change me, He can change you — and not only you, but your family too.
God Bless You
